042 | How to Shift the Way You Listen to Get More of What You Want with Mary Jo Madda

42

LISTEN TO YOUR TEAM AND GET WHAT YOU WANT

Mary Jo is a director at EdSurge and previously, she taught middle school math/science with Teach for America. Following her years teaching, she worked on the ScratchED team at the MIT Media Lab, and served as a founding Education Entrepreneurship Fellow at the Harvard University Innovation Lab while piloting an educational media start-up.

Mary Jo pulls back the veil to how most leaders fail to listen to the people they are serving and how great leaders will be able to produce great results from a true understanding of how their people learn. She gives us a lot to sink our teeth into into how to “personalize” leadership to deviate from tunnel vision that derails most people via groupthink.

Mary Jo has an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Northwestern University. Most recently, she was featured on the Forbes “30 Under 30” list for 2016.
